Coonoor tea auction volume up

A volume of 16.91 lakh kg is being offered for Sale No: 2 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction scheduled for Thursday and Friday. This is 3.19 lakh kg more than last week’s offer. Of the 16.91 lakh on offer, 11.92 lakh kg belong to the leaf grades and 4.99 lakh kg to dust grades. As much as 15.62 lakh kg belongs to the CTC variety and only 1.29 lakh kg to orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 60,000 kg belong to orthodox while 11.32 lakh kg to CTC. Among the dusts, only 69,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 4.30 lakh kg to CTC.
