Good demand for new turmeric

Demand for new turmeric has increased but buyers quoted a low price for the commodity. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard, Salem Hybrid Finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,519 to ₹8,850 and root variety at ₹5,011 to Rs 7296 . The local turmeric finger variety was sold at ₹5,434 to ₹7,869 and root variety at ₹5,014 to ₹7,039 . At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,919 to ₹7,499 and root variety at ₹ 5,730 to ₹6,999 . At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmeric was sold at ₹6,799 to ₹7,909 and, root variety was sold at ₹6,559 to ₹7,269 .
