Kerala fisheries university to introduce innovative programmes bl-premium-article-image

Aimed at improving the quality of academic and research activities, the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) will introduce innovative programmes in academic and administrative levels.

According to B Madhusoodana Kurup, Vice-Chancellor, a 'Lab to Land' programme will be introduced for improving the skill and employability of students. As part of this, rural fisheries work experience programme and several other experiential industrial programmes will be started.

Kerala Governor, who is also the Chancellor of KUFOS, had stressed on the need for renovating university education system and asked for a report on performance of the university.

KUFOS will also expand its placement network in collaboration with various companies functioning in fisheries and allied areas to provide employment opportunities to students.

In this connection, an industrial advisory board will be established by including CEOs of all companies in Kerala. Students of the university will be given opportunities to carry out their experiential learning activities and other project works in these companies, he said.
