Red hot!
Updated - February 17, 2011 at 09:43 PM.
A retail trader with his stock of red chilly from Kurnool and Mahbubnagar of AP waits for buyers at the Rytu Bazzar Market in Erragadda in Hyderabad on Thursday as prices ruled between Rs 8500 to Rs 9000 per quintal . At the retail it is selling at Rs 10500 per quintal . High prices are due to drop in chilly production. Chilly crop has been extensively damaged due to heavy rainfall in the first week of December resulting in damage and lowering production by over thirty percent . PHOTO: P V Sivakumar
