Sugar market ruled weak on higher selling by producers. At the Vashi wholesale market, local demand remained limited, while at mill level less-than-expected demand forced the producers to sell the sweetener at ₹10-30 a quintal lower than previous close. Prices at Vashi declined by ₹50-70 a quintal. Arrivals were at 58-60 truck loads and local dispatches were at 57-58 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,612-2,751and M-grade ₹2,702-2,882. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,575-2,645 and M-grade ₹2,645-2,725.
