Turmeric price softens

Turmeric prices softened even as traders concentrated on picking up quality produce.Without major orders from North India buyers limited purchases. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard, finger turmeric sold at ₹5,869-8,349 a quintal and root variety at ₹5,309-7,677. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was ₹6,691-8,117, and root variety ₹6,394-7,509. At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmeric fetched at ₹7,233-8,299 , root variety at ₹6,120-7,599.
