6 Bills listed for passage and consideration in Lok Sabha, 4 in Rajya Sabha

The government proposes to bring in 10 Bills for passage and consideration in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the second week of the Winter session of Parliament, which begins here on Monday.

The six Bills listed for the Lok Sabha include The Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2014, The Factories (Amendment) Bill , The National Waterways Bill, 2015, The Bureau of Indian Standards Bill, 2015, The Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill, 2015 and The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2015, an official release said here on Sunday.

The legislative business proposed to be taken up in the Rajya Sabha includes The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Whistle Blower Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015 (as passed by Lok Sabha), The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015 (as passed by Lok Sabha and to replace an Ordinance) and The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill, 2015 (as passed by the Lok Sabha).

Intolerance debate  On Monday, the Lok Sabha is scheduled to discuss ‘the situation arising out of incidents of intolerance in the country’, under Rule 193, following a notice given by CPI(M) leader P Karunakaran and Congress leader KC Venugopal.

The Rajya Sabha, however, will continue its two-day discussion on ‘Commitment to the Constitution’, as part of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of BR Ambedkar, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said. The first day was lost in the Upper House owing to the demise of a sitting member from Nagaland.
