Delhi Metro services stopped near PM’s residence

The Delhi Police asked the Delhi Metro to close four stations located near the Prime Minister’s residence on Thursday afternoon.

Sources said this was done after Mr Anna Hazare’s call to anti-graft protesters to gherao Dr Manmohan Singh’s residence at 7, Racecourse Road at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Delhi Metro stated that as per the directions received from the Delhi Police, four Metro stations, that is, Udyog Bhawan, Race Course, Jor Bagh (Yellow Line) and Khan Market (Violet Line) will be closed for public from 3 p.m. till further directions.

All other Metro stations will run as per normal schedule, said the statement.
