The Finance Ministry expects economic growth to further improve in the next fiscal on the back of better macro-economic fundamentals.

“As we have been saying in the past the economy has stabilised and that is reflected in rupee and stock markets. Going forward we will see growth number also improving,” Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram told reporters on Monday.

One can safely say that India is among best of the emerging markets, he added.

Indian economy is likely to grow 4.9 per cent in the current fiscal, the Central Statistics Office had estimated.
