Hearing on Janardhana Reddy’s bail plea adjourned to Sept 29

The special court for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday adjourned hearing on the bail petition of Karnataka ex-minister Mr Gali Janardhana Reddy and Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company Mr Srinivasa Reddy to Sept 29.

The court had the case as the advocates boycotted the courts as part of the on-going general strike for a separate Telangana State. The CBI also filed a counter petition opposing the bail and seeking custody of the accused for nine more days.

Mr Janardhana Reddy and Mr Srinivasa Reddy were arrested by CBI in Bellary on September 5, 2011 in an illegal mining case.

Meanwhile, Mr Balwinder Singh, Director, CBI arrived in Hyderabad today and held meeting with senior officials at Dilkusha Guest House where the investigating agency set up a temporary office.

He reviewed the investigation in the illegal mining case, inappropriate assets case involving Kadapa MP Mr J Jagan Mohan Reddy and Emaar cases, according to sources.
