India, Bhutan ink MoU on cooperation in audit of public finances

India and Bhutan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation for improving work methodologies and exchange of information in the field of audit of public finances.

The MOU was signed by Shashi Kant Sharma, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and Dasho Ugen Chewang, Auditor General of Bhutan in Thimpu on Tuesday.

It would be in force for a period of six years from today.

The MOU aims at improving professional knowledge and skills of staff members of the two countries in the field of audit by exchange of experience and by strengthening their knowledge.

Under this MOU, India will impart training every year to two audit officers of the Royal Audit Authority of Bhutan in the IA&AS course, in the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla.
