The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, said on Monday that the arrest of YSR Party chief and Member of Parliament, Mr Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, was being politicised by Ms Vijayalakshmi, Jagan's mother and the widow of former Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Both the Central as well as the State Governments have had no role in his arrest in the disproportionate assets cases. In fact, these cases have been initiated based on the directive of the Courts, he said.

In fact, Mr Mopidevi Venkataramana, State Minister for Excise, has been arrested fro transactions relating to the Vanpic project, he said.

The Chief Minister said that Ms Vijayalakshmi's intention in seeking to raise the issue of YSR's death in a helicopter crash was to gain political mileage before the June 12 bye-elections to 18 Assembly seats and one Parliamentary constituency.

The Chief Minister said all the issues that were being raised now after the arrest of Jagan, are politically motivated.

The Government may also consider supporting all those ministers who have been issued notices by the CBI on the issue of Government Orders, he said .

Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat along with senior Cabinet colleagues, the Chief Minister said the probe had been initiated based on the directive of the Supreme Court and that investigations were ongoing.
