The Andhra Pradesh Government, which is according priority to infrastructure development through Public Private Partnership (PPP), is planning to develop a second major port in the State and is awaiting finalisation of the site.
The State, on its part, will play the role of a facilitator harnessing the technical expertise of public sector and attracting huge investments from private sector.
Disclosing this today after assuming charge as the Principal Secretary, Infrastructure & Investment, Mr Sutirtha Bhattacharya, said the State Government has identified Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode as a key driver for development of infrastructure and for sustainable economic development.
In a statement, Mr Bhattacharya said the Government has proposed to construct a second major port in the State to compliment the existing major port at Visakhapatnam. Location of site for development of the second major port is under examination by the Centre.
