Ircon has signed an agreement with Northeast Frontier Railway for construction of a new broad gauge rail line between Jogbani in north Bihar and Biratnagar in Nepal.
The project is proposed to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of Rs 238 crore, said an official release.
Alignment
The proposed alignment connecting Bathnaha (near Jogbani, Bihar) to Biratnagar (Nepal) will pass through international Indo-Nepal border with three new station yards – Indian custom yard, Nepal custom yard and Biratnagar terminal yard.
There will be two bridges on the Parman and the Sinhyadri rivers.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr Mohan Tiwari, Managing Director, Ircon, and Mr Keshav Chandra, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railways.
