Renaming of Tuticorin port hailed

The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has hailed the decision to rename Tuticorin Port Trust as V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust. In a statement here, the President, Mr N. Jegatheesan, appreciating the decision of the Union Shipping Minister, Mr G.K. Vasan, said that the renaming of the Port after the freedom fighter, has come at the right time as the Port is all set to recommence the ferry service between Tuticorin and Colombo.
