The Road Transport and Highways Ministry has invited bids from companies for organising a live video interaction on Web with citizens that is aimed at directly taking suggestions from people on road safety, an official said today.

The Ministry has invited expressions of interest from interested firms for a live video exchange among at least five persons for one hour, the official said, adding that companies also have to ensure that the data exchange be passively seen through Web broadcasting by at least one lakh persons.

Only those firms with minimum annual turnover of Rs 5 crore a year in the last three years can participate in the bid, the official said. Besides, the bidder must possess Web-based Search Engine or other Web based service, with daily Web clicking of at least 1 million persons in India.

Expansion in road network, motorisation and urbanisation have been accompanied by a rise in road accidents.
