The Indian Railways has identified 109 stations for setting up food plazas.

Of this, the highest number of stations is in Andhra Pradesh (23), followed by Bihar (14) and West Bengal (11).

Surprisingly, only three stations have been selected for a huge State like Maharashtra, much lower than even a small State like Jharkhand, where six stations have been selected.

The three stations identified in Maharashtra are in Chadrapur, Lonavala and Mumbai Central.

This information was give by the Minister of State in the Railways Ministry, Mr K.K Muniyappa, in a written answer in the Lok Sabha recently.
