Mihin Lanka to fly Kolkata-Colombo thrice a week

Sri Lanka-based carrier Mihin Lanka, will start operations between the city and Colombo Wednesday. The service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Mihin Lanka has a code sharing agreement with Sri Lankan Airlines, the national carrier of the island nation, it said in a press release.

SriLankan Airlines currently operates 86 flights per week to India with direct daily frequencies to the 07 cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Tiruchi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.

The code sharing agreement will boost local tourism, the release stated. The introductory fare from Kolkata to Colombo will start at Rs 10,530.

Mihin Lanka will operate an Airbus319 and A321 on the Kolkata-Colombo route.
