New Mangalore Port handled the first consignment of trial shipment of tyres by JK Tyre recently.
A press release from New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) said here on Friday that the first consignment of trial shipment of 40-ft-high container was exported from New Mangalore. The container was stuffed at the JK Tyre factory in Mysuru and shipped on vessel mv Tiger Goman on June 18.
The consignment is destined for Manzanillo in Mexico. The release said JK Tyre has assured the port to increase the volume of shipments through it and transport radial tyres in bulk for stuffing inside the port.
The port management thanked JK Tyre, the Commissioner of Customs in Mangaluru, and MSC Lines and Cargolinks (the clearing and forwarding agents), for the successful handling of the consignment.
