Pratt & Whitney has provided more than 20 spare engines for A320 neo aircraft operated by IndiGo as well as GoAir and none of the airlines’ planes are grounded now, aviation industry sources said.

With the two airlines facing problems with the P&W engines that power their A320 neo planes, aviation regulator DGCA had asked the US company to expedite the supply of engines. IndiGo, which is the country’s largest airline in terms of market share, has 24 neo aircraft while rival GoAir operates eight such planes. Earlier, IndiGo and GoAir had to ground some of their neo planes due to engine issues.
