‘Abhinaya' to begin 45-day tour

Kerala's stage group Abhinaya Theatre Research Centre is all set to embark on a 45 day travelling ‘Summer Theatre Festival' to stage plays across the State from April 28.

The troupe will stage four plays, including Shakespeare's ‘Macbeth', Eugene Ionesco's ‘The Lessons', ‘Bhagawadajjukam', a satire based on a 2,000-year old Sanskrit text and ‘Sagarakanyaka' based on Henrik Ibsen's ‘Lady from the Sea.'

The plays, directed by Mr M. G. Jyothish, will be staged in various towns like Kozhikode, Kattappana, Palakkad, Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.

The 45-member team will camp in each town for three days, said Mr M. Raghoothaman, the founder of ‘Ahinaya' group.
