Pranab to meet entrepreneurs, VCs ahead of Start-up India

On the eve of the launch of the ‘Start-up India’ initiative, several venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and technologists will have an interactive session with President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday.

Those who are expected to attend the event are Venktesh Shukla, President, TiE; Suhas Patil, CEO of Cradle Technologies; Kanwal Rekhi, General Partner, Inventus Capital; and Vinod Dham, Founder, Indo-US Ventures, among others.

The ‘Start-up India’ initiative will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 16 and aims to foster entrepreneurship and promote innovation by creating an ecosystem conducive for the growth of start-ups, an official statement said.

Centre’s commitment “The purpose of the interactive session with the President is to reiterate government’s commitment to making India the hub of innovation, design and start-ups.

“It is expected that this interaction will bolster the start-up initiative of the government and be of inspiration to the entrepreneurs,” the statement added.
