Moodbidri to host job fair

The Moodbidri-based Alva's Education Foundation will conduct ‘Alva's Pragati 2011' (a mega job fair) at Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district from April 9 to 11.

Addressing presspersons here, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, said that nearly 150 companies will participate in the three-day event. More than 4,000 jobs will be on offer at ‘Alva's Pragati 2011', he said.

Nearly 10,000-15,000 students from various education institutions are likely to participate in the fair. He asked the participants to register online or through SMS to avoid any last minute rush for the job fair. Those selected in the job fair will be given additional help for two months, he said.

He said 35 multinational companies and mid-size corporation from across India hired nearly 1,500 students. More than 3,500 students from 40 different colleges across nine districts in the State participated in ‘Alva's Pragati 2010', he said.
