The new company law will come into effect from April 1, 2014.
The entire law including the rules will be in place by this date, according to Renuka Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The draft rules for this historic law will be made public for comments by the end of this month, Kumar said at a conference here on Wednesday.
Public will have 45 days to respond to the draft rules, after which the rules will be finalised by the Corporate Affairs Ministry.
She also said that the first priority of the Government would be to get the National Company Law Tribunal going.
Plans are afoot to get both Company Law Board and Board for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction subsumned into the proposed NCLT.
