The former Lokayukta, Mr Justice Santosh Hegde, will lay the foundation stone for a 40-bed hospital at Karkala on April 6.
A press release said here on Wednesday that Nitte University and Gajria Family Foundation, Karkala, have signed an agreement for opening a 40-bed hospital at Karkala.
The ‘Nitte-Gajria Specialty Hospital' will be built on five acres of land donated by Sri Venkataramana Temple Trust, Karkala.
The Gajria Family Foundation will provide Rs 6 crore to meet the cost of building and infrastructure. Nitte University will run the hospital, provide equipment, required staff and will also provide funds for day-to-day management, it said.
The hospital will be completed by April 2013, the release added.
