Karnataka Cabinet expanded; 21 ministers sworn-in

The Council of Ministers of the second Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by the new Chief Minister, Mr D.V. Sadananda Gowda, was formed on Monday with the induction of 21 ministers.

Out of these, 12 members belong to the former Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa's faction and nine are a part of Mr Jagadish Shettar's camp.

Dr V.S. Acharya, Ms Shobha Karandlaje, Mr M.P. Renukacharya, Mr Basavaraj Bommai, Mr C.M. Udasi, Mr Murugesh Nirani, Mr C.C. Patil, Mr Umesh Katti, Mr Lakshman Savadi, Mr Revu Nayak Belmagi, Mr Krishna Palemar, Mr V. Somanna, Mr Jagadish Shettar, Mr Govind Karjol, Mr S.A. Ramadas, Mr A. Narayanaswamy, Mr R. Ashok, Mr B.N. Bacchegowda, Mr Visveshwara Hegde Kageri, Mr S.A. Raveendranath and Mr S. Suresh Kumar have been sworn in as ministers.

The Reddy brothers – Mr G. Karunakara Reddy, Mr G. Janardhana Reddy and Mr B. Sriramulu – whose names have been recommended for prosecution in the Lokayukta report, did not attend the swearing-in ceremony.
