CET for engg courses only after consultation: Sibal

The Centre has assured Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunanidhi, that no proposal on common entrance examination (CET) for engineering courses would be finalised without consulting the state governments. “I assure you that no proposal for a CET for engineering courses shall be finalised without consulting state governments and working in cooperation with them,” Union HRD Minister, Mr Kapil Sibal, said in a letter to Mr Karunanidhi, dated January 6. Mr Sibal said he had received a letter from Mr Karunanidhi over introduction of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to UG/PG medical courses.
