Prime Minister reviews grievance-handling in railways, postal services

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reviewed the progress in handling and resolution of grievances related to post offices and railways. In his monthly PRAGATI meeting, Modi stressed on the importance of increasing digital transactions across the postal and rail networks, especially using the BHIM App.

PRAGATI is the multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. The Prime Minister reviews major infrastructure projects through this mechanism on a monthly basis.

An official statement said Modi also reviewed the progress in implementing the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. He also reviewed the programme for end-to-end computerisation of targeted public distribution system operations.

In all, the Prime Minister reviewed the progress of nine infrastructure projects in the railway, road, petroleum, and power sectors.

The projects are spread over Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. They include the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Char Dham Mahamarg Vikas Pariyojna.
