Mr Manohar Kulkarni, Director of Illinois Sustainable Technology, has said reducing or managing waste should be the ideal goal to attain sustainability.
According to him, turning a city into ‘zero-waste’ zone could well reach a step further towards achieving sustainability. Mr Kulkarni also emphasised on generating bio-fuel out of bio-mass.
He was attending a panel discussion through video conference from US on evolving sustainable strategies organised by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce here.
Pointing out that San Francisco and Pune reportedly became the most zero-waste cities in the world recently, he said other cities should follow their strategies.
