Review of FDI norms: Chidambaram, Sharma hold talks

The Government has initiated formal consultations on reviewing foreign direct investment norms with a meeting between Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.

Now, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotions (DIPP) will hold a discussion with 15 ministries. This discussion will conclude tomorrow.

Then the matter will be taken to the Prime Minister. Discussions will be based on the Mayaram Committee’s suggestions on reviewing sectoral FDI caps.
