Slovenia has invited Indian investments sectors such as mining, tourism and info tech. A 22-member business delegation from the South-Central European State was in Kolkata after visiting Delhi and Agra to explore more opportunities to enhance trade between India and Slovenia.
“The intension of our visit to India is to enhance the (bilateral) co-operation. We welcome investments in tourism, mining and IT sectors from here. There are possibilities of tax relief and direct subsidies,” Radovan Zerjav, Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia, said.
He was speaking at a business summit between West Bengal and Slovenia organised by the MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Bilateral trade
According to Zerjav, the bilateral trade between India and Slovenia stood at nearly €400 million last year and was expected to double in the next three to four years. “The bilateral trade between the countries is growing at 20 per cent since last few years and is expected to continue in future,” he said.
Two Slovenia-based companies recently formed joint ventures with Indian companies at the International Summit at Agra in energy and automobile sector, he added.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee, said the State has adequate land for industrialisation.
