The ruling party in Tamil Nadu, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), will organise demonstrations against the petrol price hike on Tuesday and demand a roll back.

The Party General Secretary and Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa said in a statement that the party members will demonstrate in front of Central Government offices in all district head quarters across Tamil Nadu on May 29.

Referring to the Rs 7.50 a litre hike which took the price of petrol to Rs 78, she urged the Centre to roll back the hike.

Party representatives including office bearers, Members of Parliament and the Legislative Assembly will participate in the protest, she said.
