The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hubli chapter to kindle entrepreneurial spirit in smaller towns and also with an objective of stimulating and nourishing the entrepreneurial spirit is holding business plan competition in the state.
TiE-Hubli is holding business plan competition in two categories: For college going students - ‘Youngpreneur Business Plan Competition' and for start ups and young entrepreneurs - Big Idea 50K business plan competition.
“So far we have got about 10 nominations from cities of Bangalore, Mysore and Dharwad for student category and eight nominations mainly from Hubli-Dharwad region for start ups and young entrepreneurs category,” Mr Ravi Karnool, program manager TiE-Hubli told Business Line.
Explaining the competition format, Mr Karnool said ‘Youngpreneur Business Plan Competition' is an opportunity for the under graduates and post graduates students to present their ideas to set of intellectual panellists to judge theme before they go out and experiment them in real market.
The selected top 10 business ideas will be mentored and provided with a one-day workshop on how to start and run business.
“Where as Big Idea 50K Business Plan competition is for budding and aspiring entrepreneurs who are willing to start their enterprise or those who have recently started their venture. It gives an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas, get mentored and remould their idea into an implementable business plan,” said Mr Karnool.
In addition to mentoring and project revaluation, for student category TiE is offering top three ideas with one year free student membership at TiE-Hubli along with prize money of Rs 7,500, Rs 4,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively.
“For start ups and young entrepreneur's category top three winners will get one year free TiE membership as well as mentorship to strengthen their business plan along with prize amount of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively," explains Ms Manasa, program manager looking after young entrepreneur's category.
TiE-Hubli, founded in 2009 by serial entrepreneur and co-founder and chairman of Sycamore Dr Gururaj Deshpande, has 90 active members from the north Karnataka region.
