Haven't bought a 3G phone yet but still want to make or receive video calls? Don't worry. Aircel has opened two video-calling booths, where people can make video calls.

Akin to trunk call bookings in the pre-liberalised telecom era, people could summon in friends or relatives in other places to the booths to video-call with each other.

“People in Vijayawada and Hyderabad could turn up at these booths and talk to one another,” Mr Hamir Bakshi, Regional Business Head (South) of Aircel, told

Business Line .

The company would open 28 such booths across the State as it expands the facility to other States as well. In the inaugural offer, the company offers five minutes of free talk time to people.

“People can talk to their friends or relatives having a 3G phone,” Mr Bakshi said.

“We are the first operator to launch this. We are offering these calls at a nominal tariff,” Mr Murthy Chaganti, Circle Business Head (Andhra Pradesh) of Aircel, told reporters after launching the booth in Hyderabad on Thursday.
