Infosys has opened a new development centre in Wisconsin, in the US.

This will be a training centre, in addition to providing its global clients access to its system integration and consulting business.

Harley Davidson

Infosys counts Harley Davidson as a client and will support outsourcing services to the company from Milwaukee for five years.

This development centre will seat 125 Infosys employees who will be servicing Harley Davidson in areas like software applications, IT infrastructure support and other services.

“Milwaukee, which is located in the mid-western region in the US, is a key region for Infosys to support its global clients,” said Mr Ashok Vemuri, Head of Americas and Board Member, Infosys. This facility is the 18th location of Infosys in the US, and is a part of the company’s strategy to stay closer to its clients.

In the first quarter of this fiscal , Mr S. D. Shibulal, CEO of Infosys, said the company had added 1,000 people and hired 1,200 people in FY12 fiscal.

Like Harley Davidson, Infosys is planning to service more clients out of the US where it gets in excess of 70 per cent of its revenues.

The Indian IT sector is seeing increasing pressure from companies in the US who are delaying their outsourcing decisions due to the US presidential elections.
