AppThoughtz, an IT start-up focusing on developing apps (applications) for education, has launched iTopper, a tablet PC for Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) students in the country.

The tablet is available in two versions — one with SIM (Rs 10,500) and the other without a SIM (Rs 9,000).

“The true potential is not tapped yet. They are being used only to check mails, upload pictures and surf the Internet. But we see a great value in it for the Intermediate students,” Vijay Kallepalli, Managing Director of AppThoughtz, said.

Launching the tablet here on Tuesday, he said the company has tied up with Cambridge University Press and a local publisher VGS for the content. “They can read the content offline, watch videos and ask questions. The questions will be answered by experts,” he said.

The company has plans to introduce high school syllabus from next academic year.

Specifications

The 195x118 mm tablet comes with a 24 GB internal memory, 1 GB RAM with a provision for external memory up to 32 GB. It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System. The SIM-based works on 3G connection too.
