Cognizant Technology Solutions will be setting ₹1,583 core in Andhra Pradesh to set up a world class centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The upcoming project is expected to create 8,000 jobs.
Cognizant has sought 21.31 acres of land at Kapuluppada under the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), and the state government would allot the land for a nominal rate of 99 paisa per acre on lease.
The company has set a target of March 2029 for the commencement of commercial operations. “With the entire project being 100 percent self-funded, Cognizant’s expansion into Visakhapatnam reinforces its long-term commitment to Andhra Pradesh,’‘ a release said.
The State government had earlier allotted 21.16 acres to TCS in Visakhapatnam at a token lease price of 99 paise for its campus to be set up with an investment of ₹1,370 crore. The project is set to generate 12,000 jobs.
