CtrlS Datacenters to inaugurate its Chennai campus on Feb 25

The Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters Ltd will inaugurate its ₹4,000 crore data center in Chennai on February 25. Chief Minister MK Stalin is expected to inaugurate the center located inside the Ambattur industrial estate.

Named NammaDatacenter (our data center in Tamil), the Chennai campus marks a pivotal moment in the company’s mission to strengthen India’s digital infrastructure. This investment will significantly enhance the region’s data processing capabilities, accelerating enterprise digital transformation while cementing Chennai’s position as a crucial data corridor connecting South Asia with the Asia-Pacific region, the company said in a social media post.

In February 2024, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, unveiled its upcoming datacenter park in Chennai – their fifth hyperscale DC campus in India following Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida and Bengaluru.

CtrlS Datacenters then said that it would invest ₹4,000 crore in the Chennai Datacenter Park, across phases. The company is expected to create about 500 direct jobs and over 9,000 indirect jobs.

Located in the Ambattur industrial area, the campus will include two data center buildings with a combined built-up area of almost 1 million square feet, and 72 MW IT load capacity.

CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, which began its operations in 2007, operates 15 data centers across eight key markets and is set to have over 600 MW of data center capacity by 2029. CtrlS Datacenters has announced its plans to explore new overseas markets in Southeast Asia and Middle East, with Thailand being the first international market foray, according to information in its website.
