Google is shutting down Listen since there are a variety of such applications available at Google Play (the Android applications market place).

Google will shut down Apps for Teams window. It started this feature in 2008 to allow people with a verified business or school e-mail address to collaborate by using applications such as Docs and Google Talk.

"We realised that Apps for Teams was not as useful for people as we originally anticipated. Beginning September 4, 2012, we will start converting Google Apps for Teams accounts into personal Google Accounts," Max Ibel, Director of Engineering of Google, said in Google's blog.

In the last one year, the digital media and communication company made changes to 50 services, features and services by merging them, closing down and enhancing them.

The search engine firm will also close Google Listen, an application it launched to let people listen to podcasts. Since there are a variety of such applications available at Google Play (the Android applications market place), the company has decided to shut it down. People, however, can use it till November 1.

The firm would migrate all files stored in Video for Business accounts to Google Drive (the new window opened in Gmail to let users to store information) soon.

"All migrated videos will be stored for free and will not count against a user’s Google Drive storage quota," he said.
