Intel opens new design facility in Bengaluru, invests ₹1,100 cr

Intel has opened a design centre in Bengaluru, with an investment of ₹1,100 crore, in an effort to push futuristic technologies such as 5G and Artificial Intelligence to its clients.

The centre which has come up at Intel’s 44 acre campus spread across 6.2 lakh sq ft. While Intel plans to hire, it said that the centre will work on “cutting edge” engineering across hardware and software. The announcement also marks Intel’s 20 years in India. Nivruti Rai, Country Head, Intel India and Vice-President, Data Centre Group, Intel Corporation said that the last 20 years was “magical” but the next 20 would be even more exciting.

The new design centre will play a strategic role in Intel’s growth by making significant contributions to its technology and product portfolio in areas like AI, Cloud, Client, Graphics, 5G, Prakash Mallya, MD, Sales and Marketing Group-India told BusinessLine .

Rai also stated that Intel is upbeat about India, where it has invested $5 billion, which translates into an average of $1 billion every 4 years.
