L&T Technology Services sets up design centre in Chennai

L&T Technology Services Ltd (LTTS), an engineering and R&D services (ER&D) arm of infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro, has set up a design centre in Chennai dedicated for Vestas, a Denmark-based manufacturer of wind turbines and developer of solutions for the wind industry.

The R&D centre will facilitate cost-effective engineering solutions and focus on solutions in areas like energy storage, hybrid energy and smart products, LTTS said in the statement.

“Vestas works with long-term partners like L&T Technology to help develop solutions that lower the cost of energy, ensure flexibility in product development and shorten the amount of time needed to bring new products and solutions to market,” Andreas Bürger, Senior Vice President, Power Solutions, Industrialization at Vestas, said.

According to Bhupendra Bhate, Chief Digital Officer, L&T Technology Services Ltd, the company has previously worked on energy management and storage solutions projects for the solar and wind power segments. LTTS has been associated with Vestas for over a decade as its strategic engineering partner, he added.

LTTS, having 12 global delivery centres in India and overseas, 27 sales offices and 34 labs across India, North America Europe, West Asia and Asia, is focused on engineering and R&D services.

The company offers consultancy, design, development and testing services across product and process development life cycle for various industrial products, medical devices, transportation, telecom & hi-tech, and the process industries. The company went public in September 2016.
