ZTE launches 'nubia Z9 mini' at Rs 16,999

Chinese smartphone maker ZTE launched its ‘nubia’ brand in India with the nubia Z9 mini. The phone will be sold exclusively on Amazon India at a price of ₹16,999.

Phone features The phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 and nubia 2.8 user interface out of the box. It is a dual-sim phone with a 16 mega pixel camera and an 8 mega pixel front camera. The device has a number of patents for its imaging and camera system.

It has a 5-inch screen made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and powered by the 64 bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, with speeds of 1.5 Ghz. It has a 2GB RAM and 16 GB storage, expandable up to 128 GB.

“Now is the perfect time for a brand like nubia to be launched in India. There are a lot of discerning photographers and this brand will widen our customer segment,” said Yuan Kang, Chief Executive Officer – Terminal Sales, South Asia, ZTE. Kang added that the Z9 mini is the start of nubia’s products in India but by the end of the year, there will be a next generation product. However, he said that there are no clear plans yet of manufacturing in India. The nubia phone will be covered by Amazon’s warranty plans as well as ZTE service centre network of 250 outlets.
