The recent restructuring exercise carried out at the country’s largest e-commerce company Flipkart has claimed its first victim with the head of commerce and advertising business Mukesh Bansal putting in his papers on Wednesday. Ankit Nagori, Chief Business Officer, has also quit.

Mukesh Bansal will, however, continue to be an adviser for the fashion vertical Myntra and co-founders, Sachin and Binny Bansal, company officials said. Nagori will leave the company at the end of his three-month notice period.

Last month, in a top deck rejig, Flipkart elevated Binny Bansal as the CEO while Sachin was made chairman. Mukesh Bansal was put in charge of the advertising business, which was being overseen by Binny. The move was seen by industry watchers as an attempt by Sachin and investors to hold back Binny, who was expected to join Nagori to launch a start up.

Nagori plans to start a venture in the sports domain, a Flipkart spokesperson said.
