Sify Infinit Spaces Limited, the Chennai-based data centre provider, on Thursday inaugurated its data centre campus at Sipcot Siruseri, Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the facility, which the company claims is South India’s largest artificial intelligence-ready data centre campus.
With a planned capacity of 130 MW, it is the only data centre in India to feature an on-site open cable landing station, offering enhanced global connectivity and network performance. As part of its long-term environmental goals, Sify aims to power the Siruseri data centre entirely with renewable energy and manage it using sustainable building management practices, setting a new benchmark in eco-conscious digital infrastructure, according to a release.
Raju Vegesna, Chairman and Managing Director of Sify Technologies Ltd, in his address, spoke about the company’s long-term commitment to India’s digital economy. “With our cumulative investment now crossing ₹10,000 crore from an initial commitment of ₹2,500 crore, we are not only building digital infrastructure but also creating an ecosystem of opportunity. We envision generating employment for 10,000 people—both direct and indirect—as this facility ramps up,” he said.
Total investment in the campus will be around ₹10,000 crore with Sify investing ₹2,500 crore and rest from the partners like hyperscalers, Vegesna told businessline
The facility will serve as an enabler for AI workloads and digital-first enterprises, offering scalable infrastructure and high-performance computing capabilities.
