Tata Docomo is expanding its network in Maharashtra and plans to add 625 cell sites across its GSM, 3G and CDMA technology platforms in the next 100 days.
Praveg Gupta, Head, Mobility Business Unit, Tata Docomo said, “Maharashtra has been identified as a focused and a fast growing market for us. We have considerably scaled up our network expansion in the last two months, and added 1,500 new cell sites. In addition we also plan to roll out another 625 sites in next 100 days.”
With the addition of the 1,500 new cell sites, the company’s footprint has grown to 9,717 towns with 9,365 sites on GSM, 3G and CDMA network.
Additionally, Tata Docomo has made significant investments in the expansion of its retail footprint and has over 50,000 retail outlets in the region.
