Tata Electronics acquires 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India

Pegatron to undergo rebranding while continuing to deliver electronics manufacturing services

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), acquired a controlling 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited (PTI), a Taiwan-based company that provides EMS service to major global smartphone brands.

The move strengthens TEPL’s role in the electronics manufacturing sector.

As part of the deal, Tata Electronics and Pegatron will integrate their teams. Pegatron will undergo rebranding while continuing to deliver electronics manufacturing services.

Regarding the announcement, Dr Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, said, “The acquisition of a majority stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited fits into Tata Electronics’ strategy of growing our manufacturing footprint.”

Earlier this month, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) granted approval to the Tata Electronics to acquire a majority stake in Pegatron.

The electronics manufacturing company had acquired Wistron’s India operations in March 2024, as part of the Tata Group’s plans to invest heavily in electronics manufacturing.
