India's largest software exporter TCS launched two retail solutions Optumera Digital Merchandizing Suite and OmniStore on Monday.

The company said while Optumera is a computational intelligence platform for retailers, OmniStore is a unified store commerce platform.

TCS has been working on various platforms to boost its revenue as earnings from its core services are slowing down. Last year TCS launched its automation platform Ignio, which the company says has 8-9 customers, although the average cost of each project is only a couple of million dollars. The company is also working on various other platforms in big data, retail, analytics etc.

Optumera Digital Merchandising Suite leverages the power of Big Data analytics, analysing heterogeneous data sources with advanced machine learning algorithms, the company said in a statement. It said the platform can help retailers localise and optimise store space, curate a shopper-centric omni channel assortment, respond in real time to competitor pricing strategies, and automate planogram compliance through image processing.

Optumera, on the other hand, uses stochastic optimisation algorithms on a high performance computing platform for prescriptive analytics that help merchants to predict the possible consequence based on different choices of action to de-risk their investments and model customer behaviour.

“TCS is focused on developing solutions that harnesses the power of digital technologies to help retailers innovate and differentiate,” said Pratik Pal, President of Retail and CPG, TCS. “TCS has invested in building OmniStore, which is a compelling alternative to a traditional POS. Built on micro-services architecture, it enables orchestration of omni-channel user journeys in stores.”
