Toshiba unveils new laptop series

Electronics goods manufacturer Toshiba India, a subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation of Japan, on Saturday announced the launch of its new range of satellite series laptops and an Ultrabook (a high-end netbook).

The new series include laptops under the categories “C”, “L” and “M” and an Ultrabook (a high-end netbook) called U840, the company said according to a release.

According to the release, the laptops will allow 30 per cent faster booting. It also comes with a standard HDMI port that allows users to connect the laptops to larger HD (high definition) devices.

The “L”, “M” series and the Ultrabook will also feature a sleep-and-charge port that will allow users to charge their smartphones, MP3 players or other portable electronic devices through the USB port even when the laptops or Ultrabooks are powered down.

According to the release, models under the “C” series range are priced between Rs 23,000 and Rs 44,000. “L” series models are priced between Rs 51,500 and Rs 56,000.

The “M” series laptops — designed primarily for students and the youth — is priced between Rs 32,500 and Rs 41,000. The Ultrabook is priced at Rs 53,500.
