Boomtrain, a San Francisco-headquartered marketing platform that uses Artificial Intelligence to drive interactions with users at every touch point, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire partner, Bengaluru-based messaging start-up Nudgespot. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Boomtrain and Nudgespot initially partnered nine months ago, and have been co-developing a product that combines Nudgespot’s platform with Boomtrain’s AI technology. Nudgespot has built a messaging platform that will integrate into Boomtrain’s technology to deliver a seamless experience for businesses to communicate with customers and visitors on websites and in mobile apps.
“The acquisition of Nudgespot will accelerate our strategy to enable AI-powered communications between businesses and their customers,” said Nick Edwards, CEO and founder of Boomtrain.
“This is the first productised messaging application that will be fully integrated into a marketing suite. This gives marketers the ability to incorporate multi-channel chat functionality, combined with our AI platform, to facilitate personalised and scalable conversations with their customers,” he said.
Together, Boomtrain and Nudgespot will have 70 people in offices located in San Francisco and Bengaluru, and will continue to expand its footprint globally.
Integration of operations began on August 1. The teams will continue to collaborate to add more functionality to Boomtrain Messenger during its beta programme.
“Nudgespot and Boomtrain are pushing the envelope in bi-directional messaging technologies between businesses and customers,” said Raveen Sastry, co-founder of Nudgespot. “Teaming up with Boomtrain will continue to extend our offering to over 120 large enterprises including Vogue, CBS, Ola Cabs, Bluestone etc, in need of advanced, simple, B2C messaging solutions, powered by advanced AI.”
Sastry was previously a founder of Myntra Design Pvt Ltd, which was acquired in 2014 by Flipkart for $330 million.
