Vodafone unveils talk-time transfer service

GSM operator Vodafone India has launched a service that enables a post-paid user to transfer balance talk-time to a pre-paid subscribers.

The service - ‘Post-to-Pre Talk time Transfer’ – would benefit post-paid customers who have family members, domestic staff, friends or office staff using a pre-paid Vodafone connection and in need of talk-time, the company said in a statement.

“Post-to-pre balance transfer is a special initiative to empower our customers and help them remain connected always. This latest initiative addresses a latent need within customers groups, thus enabling them in controlling spends and assuring uninterrupted service,” Vodafone India Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Mathur said.

This service, which allows a post-paid subscriber to make one transaction per day, is applicable within the same circle. A recipient can receive up to three transactions in a day, but the maximum amount that can be transferred from a single post-paid connection or received by a single pre-paid connection cannot exceed Rs 1,000 per month. 

The operator would levy a fee of Rs 3 from the donor for the transaction.
